be the best that you can be”

Prices / Charges

The School Governing Body of Rosslyn Park Primary and Nursery School support the principal of maintaining the right to free school education.

In determining the charging and remissions policies, which are set out in this document, the governors have been mindful of the 1988 Education act that gives the school Governors discretion to make charges, under certain circumstances, for the benefit of the school or in support of any activity organised by the school, whether during or outside school hours in the form of requests from the school for voluntary contributions from parents/carers.

The Governing Body recognises the valuable contribution that a wide range of activities, including school visits, residential experiences, visitors, authors and after- school clubs can make towards all aspects of pupil’s education. The Governing Body would accordingly wish to promote and provide as far as possible such activities as part of a broad and balanced curriculum for the benefit of all pupils of the school.

Charges

The Governing Body wants as many children as possible to participate in the wide ranging menu of activities offered by Rosslyn Park Primary and Nursery School. To this end, in recent years, the Governing Body has agreed to heavily subsidise a range of activities. However, the Governing Body reserves the right to make a charge in the form of a contribution towards activities arranged by the school.

Residential Activities held during school hours:
The Governing Body agreed in April 2019 to continue to heavily subsidise residential visits for Years 2 and 6 in the academic year 2019/20, leaving parents/carers with a small contribution to make. Parents/carers are notified well in advance of the activities and the estimated cost. Parental consent will be obtained for their children’s participation in any such activities for which a charge may be made. Any charge for a residential visit will be calculated according to the actual cost of providing the board and lodging and travel for each pupil; no other costs will be covered by the charge.
