Primary 6 Partnership (P6P) 2016/17

‘The Primary 6 Partnership’s over-arching aim is to raise standards and improve outcomes for all children and young people in its community. It aspires to create a culture of high aspiration, a commitment to life-long learning and a determination to succeed and enjoy’

Schools that form the Primary 6 Partnership are Ambleside, Heathfield, Hempshill Hall, Old Basford, Rosslyn Park Primary Schools, a mix of maintained schools and academies. The partnership emerged from an existing family of schools with strong historical relationships.

As five schools operating across six sites serving over 2,500 children, we collaborate on six key areas.

There is a commitment from all schools to share expertise and resources to be as efficient and effective as possible, to enable children, staff and communities reach their potential. The P6P seeks to raise educational standards and provide positive, engaging learning opportunities and impact on school improvement by being:

The cohesive group of Head teachers direct the work of the partnership, monitor the implementation of the action plan and provide professional peer support. They are also keen to evaluate the impact of the various projects to ensure we are working effectively and they are supported by a part-time Partnership Manager.

Over recent years we have worked successfully with a range of partners, including Royal Shakespeare Company, Transform Teaching School Alliance, Nottingham City Council, Enabling Enterprise, National Literacy Trust, Patrons of Reading, Independent Thinking, The British Council, Nottingham University, Nottingham Trent University, Nottingham Playhouse, and Nottingham Theatre Royal amongst others.

The Partnership priorities relate to School Improvement Plans and governors receive updates each term in order to consider the impact of activity for their own schools. The P6P is keen to innovate and to keep up to date with key policy developments in order to anticipate the educational opportunities and challenges ahead.

“Working together as a committed group of schools has enormous benefits for children, families and staff across our communities, By supporting and challenging one another, and sharing our resources, everyone gains from the added value that such a creative partnership brings to our individual schools”

Gary Fullwood, P6P Chair and Head teacher of Heathfield Primary & Nursery School.
